Dr. Timmer Speaks on the Old Testament
Prof. D. Timmer recently presented two papers dealing with subjects related to the Old
Testament before learned societies. In mid-April he presented a study of the interrelation
of history and religion at Ugarit (Ras Shamra) in the 14th-13th centuries B.C. for the
Society for Near Eastern Studies (University of Montréal/University of Québec at
Montréal), and more recently traveled to Boston to deliver a paper at a regional meeting
of the Society of Biblical Literature examining the adaptation of material from Exodus
19-Numbers 10 in one of the Dead Sea scrolls.
