Farel Accredited by A.R.T.S.
Following the visit of delegates from the Association of Reformed Theological Schools, FAREL has received Full-Member status in that accrediting body. This recommendation means FAREL courses and degrees are fully accredited within this association. The faculty had recently revised the curriculum to make completion of the B.Th. and M.Div. curricula possible in three years while preserving our focus on Greek and Hebrew, a solid systematic theology basis, and missions and practical theology. The new curricula met with the approval of ARTS, and the delegates spent the rest of their time with students and faculty looking at all aspects of the life of the Seminary. They particularly noted the level of commitment that the board and faculty had to the vision of French Reformed theological education. Dr. Timmer is excited about the opportunities this presents for Farel and its students. Farel’s organization, academic integrity, and positive presence in the global Reformed community has received another seal of approval, and our students now have more options for enriching their studies via studies abroad, transfer of courses, and post-graduate study. We are grateful to God, and to all those who assisted in this process, for this sizable step forward.
