ADMISSIONS
Admission Requirements
In order to be admitted to registration as a regular student in the Seminary, the applicant must present ordinarily the following credentials to the Office of Admissions, FAREL, 3407-A, ave. du Musée, Montréal, QC, H3G 2C6:
1. A completed application on a form supplied by the Office of Admissions.
2. A non-refundable fee of $25.00 ($C).
3. An ecclesiastical letter of reference on a form provided by the Office of Admissions.
4. Full official transcripts of the applicant’s college/University work.
*NOTE: Students who have not met all of the admissions requirements in terms of previous academic work will be considered on an individual basis and should contact the Admissions office directly: 800.475.4482.
Part-Time Students
Students wishing to take courses only occasionally may register using the following Part-time Student Application.
International Students
Students from other countries desiring to pursue studies at FAREL will be accepted on the same basis as those from Canada and the United States. International students must show proficiency in French or English if one of those two languages is not their first language.
International students must also demonstrate adequate resources for financing their education by providing relevant documentation from banks or sponsors.
Transfer Students
Students seeking to transfer to FAREL from other Seminaries, Universities, Colleges, or institutions of higher learning will be evaluated on a case by case basis for transfer credits. FAREL will make every effort to provide the student a smooth transition to FAREL’s program and curriculum. Transcripts of previous work must be sent to the Dean for evaluation and credit transfer. Occasionally competency exams may be offered to ensure the most flexibility possible.
Graduation Requirements
Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.67 (B-) or higher during the seminary program to be entitled to the degree. The total number of semester hours required for the Master of Divinity and the Bachelor of Theology degrees is 96.
Before graduating, a student must meet his financial obligations to the Seminary or make suitable arrangements to meet them. No transcript of academic credits will be forwarded until financial obligations have been met.
